Description
● Kuda Bazar is an idea to tackle the domestic waste into usable goods, which came into existence in 2019 founded by Gaurav Mishra.
● We have been organizing Weekend Ganga Clean-up Drives since 2019 and collected 11,628+ Kg of Plastic Waste in 86 drives from the banks of river Ganga in which 2000+ volunteers actively participated.
● We have been conducting free Workshop on Upcycling, Plastic Bricks etc. for schools, colleges and NGOs (Sunbeam School, Delhi University, Robinhood Army, and Bhumi Foundation) in which 1000+ participants actively participated.
● In collaboration with different organizations, we have conducted Skill Development Projects in which few workshops were organized on Basic Stitching Techniques for underprivileged women in Mirzapur. We also gave them a pilot project to make face masks out of textile waste produced by the factories.
● During the lockdown, we have successfully completed our plantation project called "Project 500" in which our volunteers/members planted 639 plants within 15 days.
● We are about to complete "Project 1000" which we have started on 5th June 2021.
● We are also organizing awareness talks and eco-friendly campaigns time to time.
● As we keep exploring better and innovative methods to stop single use plastics from going into landfills, we have started Plastic Brick Project – A smart method to convert plastic waste into usable blocks which we'll be using to create an "Art Installation" at the Ghats of Varanasi. The Installation will showcase the use of plastic bricks to create civil structures, furniture and will also be an eye-catcher for the tourists/devotees, helping spread the message of cleanliness beyond our own city.
● Recently, we have started a pond clean-up project at Jagannath temple using phytoremediation technique.
