The Institute for Micronutrient Technology (IMT) was started in 1967 by a technocrat, late, S.N Ranade who was a Microbiologist of the 1938 vintage.He is rightfully known as the Father of Micronutrient Technology in India for initiating, introducing and disseminating the concepts of micronutrients in Indian agriculture. Our current chairman, the 2nd generation in the business, Dr S. S Ranade, an MD anaesthesiologist, joined the family business in 1973 under the tutelage of S. N Ranade and has been actively involved in the field of micronutrients and plant nutrition for the last forty years.
With many "firsts" to our credit, 4 manufacturing units in the southern part of India, strong market penetration in the agriculturally important states of India, with over 200 field officers working at the grass-root level, 6 state of the art QC labs & Soil/Tissue analysis labs and excellent brand equity, IMT group is a key player in the Indian micronutrient industry.
IMT is an independent private company with no foreign involvement either financially or intellectually. All intellectual property is wholly created and owned by IMT.
