Description

Disom — The Leadership School is a movement that nurtures future socio-political ‘Servant Leaders'. Across all of India that is Bharat...
This school for adults, is a lived experience of deep democracy; an intense, peer-based and self-driven experience. Disom encourages leadership that shares responsibility, choice-making amongst their communities and constituencies, while empowered with love, humility, compassion and grace. It fosters leaders who are driven by a spirit of service and see power as a means to achieve shared well-being.
"Disom" as a word, is from the state of Jharkhand ('Disom' in Santhali, 'Disum' in Ho and Mundari languages of Jharkhand). Disom literally means the homeland of one's soul. A land of indigenous values where governance is through collective conscience, where Nature is of the highest value, and where community comes before self.
We are Disom - हम दिसोम - because we are on a journey with leaders who do not identify with the markers of birth or belief, they identify with universal fraternity. They walk in the service of all and of the planet too.
By design Disom does not have a campus, wishing to be as expansive and as mobile as we can. We operate out of campuses of our partner organisations across the country.

Within thirty years from its conception, Disom aspires to facilitate One Thousand Dream Missions steered by One Thousand Disom Leaders. With each such Dream Mission being of high impact and integrity, guided and strengthened by all the alumni, facilitators and on-the-ground partners. The Disom journey, which begins with the inner self and expands thereon, shall be guided by the principles of the Indian Constitution.
