Description
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Board at the National Law School of India University undertakes various activities for the promotion and cultivation of a culture of ADR among law students. NLS Negotiation, Mediation & client-Counselling Competition is the flagship event organised by the Board and is one of the largest ADR competitions in Asia.
NLS NMC is a unique initiative aimed at providing a platform for students from across the globe to learn and hone their alternative dispute resolution skills in a cross-cultural setting. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the International Negotiation Competition. Previous editions of the Competition have witnessed large turnouts, and have been exceptionally well received. The Competition has been heralded as one of the best and fastest-growing ADR competitions in the Asia-Pacific Region.
We believe that the untapped potential of ADR is waiting to be harnessed and NMC is one such initiative which attempts to spread awareness about ADR in India. The vision of NMC is twofold. First, to organise a tournament at par with other international negotiation and mediation competitions which would help law students hone their interpersonal skills and second, to familiarise aspiring law students with the area of ADR in order to motivate them to join us in our efforts of furthering the practice of ADR in the country.
Furthermore, the ADR Board organises numerous workshops and seminars to engage students in familiarising them with the field of ADR.
